Produced to mark the 50th publication anniversary of James Herriot's warm autobiographical novels, this '30s-set 'Masterpiece' series offering casts Nicholas Ralph as newly graduated veterinary surgeon Herriot, as he joins the rural Yorkshire Dales practice of eccentric Siegfried Farnon (Samuel West) and his waggish younger brother Tristan (Callum Woodhouse). Anna Madeley, Rachel Shenton, Matthew Lewis also star.
