'The Rise and Rise of Michael Rimmer' (1970) stars Cook as the eponymous social climber determined to reach the top by fair means or foul. Starting out at a small advertising agency, it's not long before Rimmer rises through the ranks to enter the sphere of politics as a spin-doctor, where his talent for manipulation continues to serve him well.
