Daria - The Complete Animated Series 1
23,49 €
The people of Lawndale just don’t get Daria Morgendorffer. She’s cool with that. See, Daria was born alienated, and now she’s just trying to make it through high school with as little human contact as possible. Popularity, friends, activities… whatever. Daria lacks enthusiasm but she makes up for it with sarcasm.
Daria has just moved to a new town with her work-obsessed parents, Helen and Jake, and her relentlessly cute and popular little sister, Quinn. On the first day at her new school, Lawndale High, she’s diagnosed with low self-esteem and is made to take a special class, the only positive outcome of this being that she meets a fellow cynic, Jane Lane. With her sharp intellect – and even sharper tongue – Daria begins to verbally dissect anyone she deems superficial… which is just about everyone.
Episodes:
- Esteemsters – Daria and Quinn arrive at their new school. Quinn makes friends easily. Our Daria does not. We meet Daria's teachers, her family and her new best friend, Jane.
- The Invitation – Daria is invited to a party at Brittany's. So is Quinn - oh the horror for both! To our surprise Daria and Jane attend the party and mayhem ensues.
- College Bored – Helen and Jake decide that Daria and Quinn may not be prepared for college. They enroll the two of them in a college prep course. This requires a trip to Helen and Jake's alma mater, where Quinn is named Keg Queen and Daria starts her own business
- Café Disaffecto – Daria reluctantly becomes involved in the opening of Lawndales's new student coffeehouse. She also becomes involved in its closing.
- Malled – Daria's economic class takes a field trip to a new enormous mall. Daria is sickened by the teeming masses however all is not lost when Daria discovers Quinn and the rest of the Fashion Club skipping school there.
- This Year’s Model – Daria is roped into participating when a fashion business comes to Lawndale High.
- The Lab Brat – Daria is partnered with the moronic Kevin for a science project. Daria does all of the work, of course, while Kevin watches football on TV and flirts with Quinn.
- Pinch Sitter – Quinn gets Daria to baby sit for her. Daria is stuck with two well-behaved "PC" kids who say things like "We don't like commercials - they lie."
- Too Cute – Quinn decides she needs cosmetic surgery and drags Daria to the doctor with her. The doctor is very interested in Daria, whom she views as a long-term project and potential masterpiece.
- The Big House – The annual teachers-verses-deejays roller hockey game is coming, and there is a good chance that the students will get to see Mr. Demartino die of an aneurysm during the game - but Daria is going to miss it because she is grounded by her parents.
- Road Worrier – Daria and Jane hitch a ride to the "Alternapalooza" festival with Jane's brother Trent (Daria's heartthrob) and his friend Jesse. Their van doesn't work so well, but it's an interesting trip.
- The Teachings of Don Jake – Jake takes the family camping for a relaxing weekend getaway... if they can survive it. Trent and Jane are forced to attend a family reunion.
- The Misery Chick – After an obnoxious local celebrity dies on a visit to Lawndale High, everyone seeks counsel from Daria about being miserable while Jane is being strangely distant.
