Kamui (Kenichi Matsuyama) is a ninja on the run from his own clan, who seeks sanctuary in a fishing village. But shadows of the past soon return – local fisherman Hanbei (Kaoru Kobayashi) is a wanted man for attacking the prize horse of a local lord Gambei (Koichi Sato). Meanwhile, Hanbei’s wife Sugaru (Koyuki) is herself a ninja in disguise, with a grudge against Kamui.
