Dan and Valerie Edwards (Frank Sinatra and Deborah Kerr) have been married for close to twenty years. Dan is a very successful advertising executive and believes that his relationship is a happy one but he is deluded, Valerie seeks out a divorce lawyer but is advised to give it one more shot, she organises a break in Mexico and Dan agrees to join her, once there they encounter Cesar Romero an overzealous shyster lawyer who grants them a divorce before they realise what's happening as the couple try to renew their wedding vows Dan is called away on business and sends his best friend Dean Martin to sort out the mess and keep his wife company, when they are accidentally married chaos ensues in this hilarious 60's romp.
