On returning to England he encounters Dr Yogami who begs to be given the marifisa, the only known cure for lycanthropy. But when the full moon appears strange events occur in the streets of London.

Larry Talbot returns to his father's castle in Wales and soon meets the beautiful Gwen Conliffe. One evening he goes to a carnival with Gwen and her friend Jenny, but a gypsy fortune-teller called Bela refuses to read Jenny's fortune. Subsequently she runs into the woods and is attacked by a wolf. But when Larry tries to save her a wolf bites him. Larry's good deed has repercussions that he could not possibly imagine and although he kills the wolf soon there is another lycan stalking the woman of his dreams.
