Walter Neff (Fred MacMurray), naive insurance man. Falls for the seductive charms of his beautiful client Phyllis Dietrichson (Barbara Stanwyck.) Together they plot to get rid of her dull husband and collect on the "double indemnity" life policy. Legendary director Billy Wilder (Some Like It Hot) assembled a brilliant cast which also includes Edward G. Robinson. The taut script by Wilder and Raymond Chandler is based on the classicthriller by James M. Cain.
