The year is 2049 and the ultimate in mechanical sports is the Immortal Grand Prix (IGPX), a competition where high-tech robot-combatants battle it out over courses at speeds upwards if 350 miles per hour. IGPX has become so popular than an entire city, "IG City", has been built complete with its own 60 mile track.

Team Satomi was just dealt their first cruising defeat by Team Velshtein but they don't have time to mope around or fight among themselves. Their next race is a cat versus dog battle as Luca and the Team goes up against Team Edgeraid and their dog mascot, Sola. Will it just be a dog-chase-cat race? At the annual IGPX festival, the team finally gets some time to relax in between races but Takeshi gets pumped up for the exhibition time trials as tries to beat Cunningham's record-breaking time !!
