Journalist Rachel teams up with Greg, an unsuccessful screenwriter to unravel the mystery behind an outbreak of strange events and mass hysteria in a small village.

Rachel meets with a local who is willing to share the events, which are reminiscent of the ergot poisonings in Salem. However, with her informant's sudden death and Greg's disappearance, all leads come to a dead end leaving Rachel to uncover the village's secret alone.
