After the assassination of her husband, Carmen, the eldest daughter of a notorious Amsterdam drug lord Andre de Rue, becomes embroiled in the criminal underworld.
Carmen's husband Frans, her brother Irwan and a family friend Steven ran a profitable hash smuggling business through their marina for years but when a routine drug exchange goes wrong, two members of a rival gang are murdered and a huge supply of cocaine goes missing.
Carmen is forced to take over the family drug smuggling business in order to clear the debt left by the missing loot. Things are made worse by the presence of Detective Inspector Jim Leeflang who has been monitoring the gang for some time. Torture, blackmail, kidnap and murder are all commonplace in the dark world of drug trafficking and Carmen soon realises you can trust no one, least of all those closest to you.
