The war between the Coordinators ZAFT forces and the Earth Alliance has raged on for 11 months now. Kira Yamato is a young coordinator who sought refuge on a neutral colony belonging to the peaceful country of Orb. The peace is broken by an attack by ZAFT in a bid to steal prototype giant robots, called Gundams, destined for the Alliance military. Unfortunately, when Kira inadvertently pilots a Gundam into battle for the Alliance he finds himself opposing his childhood friend, Athrun Zala, on the battlefield!
Kira and Athrun will slowly be dragged into the chaos surrounding the war. As the war spirals out of control, feeding on the hatred of both sides will anyone be able to restore peace?
