True Grit (1969):
Mattie Ross (Kim Darby) is a young, helpless tomboy whose father has been murdered. She wants vengeance, and she tracks down a tough old marshal named ‘Rooster’ Cogburn (John Wayne) as she believes he can help by finding the murderer and showing his ‘True Grit’.
Rooster has a reputation for getting the job done and enlists help from La Boeuf (Glen Campbell), a Texas ranger who is searching for the same man for another murder. Together all three trek around the country to find the murderous foe and travel through Fort Smith, Arkansas and even deep into Indian territory to find their man.

Now, for the first time, Sergio Leone's original uncut version of this monumental epic can be seen. The picture itself is as big as its Monument Valley locations, as grand as its fine, distinguished cast, as tough and bawdy as every kid imagines the Old West. Henry Fonda plays the blackest character of his long career, and he's utterly convincing as Frank, the ruthless murderous psychopath who suffers no conscience pangs after annihilating an entire family. Jason Robards is the half-breed falsely accused of the terrible slaughter. Charles Bronson plays The Man, who remembers how his brother was savagely tortured.
Shane:
Acclaimed director George Stevens' legendary rendition of the quintessential Western myth earned six Academy Award nominations, and made Shane one of the classics of the American cinema. The story brings Alan Ladd, a drifter and retired gunfighter, to the assistance of a homestead family terrorized by a wealthy cattleman and his hired gun (Jack Palance). In fighting the last decisive battle, Shane sees the end of his own life. Mysterious, moody and atmospheric, the film is enhanced by the intense performances of its splendid cast.
